We would have heard that the tube is the basic component of the tire which gets inflated and with stands the pressure of the vehicle. When we think of the accidents that are taking place, the main reason for that will be a burst in tire. Researchers have developed a tire that will not be punctured and busted. This type of tire does not have any tubes in it for inflation. One can ask the quest whether there will be no air loss in these types of tire. Yes. There will be loss in the air but it will be very slow and can withstand a drive of more than two hundred miles even after getting punctured.
The tubeless tires will have an inner lining made up of an impermeable membrane of halo butyl. The rim of the tire will act as a sealant for the air inside the tire. The air valve is directly kept on the rim. This technology will allow only the air to escape through this hole in case of a puncture. Thus the rate of decrease in air inside the tire is very much slow when compared with the ordinary tube tires. These tires have the ability to improve the durability of the tire and the performance of the vehicle in which it is fitted.
The advantages of the tubeless tires include less accident that occurs due to tire burst, easy maintenance, can be used in terrains and other rough roads. Low pressure tires can also be used to operate the vehicle without any discomfort or risk. This will improve the grip and control of the vehicle. The technology used in the tube less tire is simple. It is only the sealing of the tire either with the help of a rim or with a plastic strip. Use of more rubber will also help in sealing the air inside the tire.
The disadvantages of the tube less tires are as follows:
They are costlier when compared with the normal tires.
They worn out easily and should be replaced regularly.
A thread goes off easily and it should be replaced or else it will result in sudden damage to the vehicle and reduces the control of the vehicle.
They are heavier than the standard tires.
They don’t often get air leaks which are good for tires and the puncture is not often caused like normal version. Though if it is caused it has the ability to with stand for certain distances which depends on the manufacturing quality.
There are positives and negatives but overall the advantages of tubeless outweigh the disadvantages when compared to conventional tires.

The Ford Motor Company, as part of its evolving commitment to make its products environmentally friendly over the entire life and operation of the vehicle, is conducting experiments with plastics that are both bio-based and biodegradable. The end goal is to produce interior parts that will essentially dissolve when their working lives have come to an end Speaking at the Ward’s Auto Interiors Show in June, the technical leader of the company’s materials research and advanced engineering department admitted the goal is both difficult and long-term one.
As quoted by Auto News, Deborah Mielewski said, “It’s the big project. Before I retire, I want to reach the point where we stop making automotive plastics that are thrown into the landfill and last forever.” Last year Ford began to implement a urethane foam blend based on soybeans first used in the Mustang and now present in half a dozen other models. While much of the media emphasis is on lower emissions and greater fuel efficiency, vehicles can continue to pollute the environment for decades as they slowly decay in junkyards and garbage dumps all over the world.
Mielewski’s team is currently looking at a range of futuristic materials with unique applications. For instance, one project explores uses for polymers with shape memory that have the ability to reform to a preset configuration at certain temperature points. Other research looks at the potential for the replacement of glass with natural structural materials including kenaf, hemp, or jute. A major goal is the development of the flexible resin PLA, or corn-based polyactic acid, to be used in the replacement of conventional plastics. By combining the PLA with natural fibers, the resulting product can be totally composted. PLA is a highly versatile compound that can be produced as sheets or molded by either injection or blowing. Currently it’s used to produce biodegradable coffee cups.
The work underway at Ford is not, however, without its hurdles. At its current level of evolution PLA breaks down in 120 days making it unfit for automotive applications. Additionally, molding the material is not cost efficient in terms of time. Minutes rather than seconds are required. In addition to engineering better PLA, another potential answer to these conundrums lies in the increased use of Mucell technology that reduces how much resin is actually needed in each part. The method uses air bubbles on the microscopic level to boost plastic’s structural performance. In addition to this work, Ford is also conducting experiments with natural fibers like coconut coir and rice hulls. “It’s not that it can’t be done,” said Mielewski, “it’s just that it’s not easy.” This is not, however, deterring Ford from taking a leading role in fabricating the automotive materials of the future.

A linear actuator develops force and motion from an energy source. As evident by its name, the force and motion from this energy source is created in a linear manner by the linear actuator. This is contrast to the force and device developed by an electric actuator. The electric actuator develops force and motion rotationally. There are several kinds of linear actuators and linear motion can be achieved by many devices. Below is a list of types of linear actuators. Basically, actuators produce converts various forms of energy into mechanical energy.
Hydraulic linear actuator: Hydraulic cylinders, better known as hydraulic actuators have a hollow cylinder with a piston inserted inside it. As its name suggests, the hydraulic linear actuator is built on hydraulic principle. The controlled precise linear displacement of the piston is achieved with the alternate pressurization and depressurization. This is turn creates a controlled and precise linear displacement in the entity that is connected to the piston. They normally use a hydraulic fluid and a cylinder to create motive force. An incompressible fluid is used to apply a force at one point, which is then transmitted to another point. Hydraulic linear actuators are a low maintenance device. Also, they work well for longer periods of times even in bad environmental conditions. Hydraulic actuators are quite an important part in hydraulic table lifts, used to move around heavy workpieces and hydraulic cab lifts, which are generally used in tow trucks and fire engines.
Electro Mechanical Actuators: Electro mechanical linear actuators are quite similar to mechanical actuators. The only major difference between an electro mechanical and a mechanical linear actuator is that the control knob is an electric motor. The rotary motion is then converted into linear displacement of the actuator.
In a linear actuator, a drive screw is rotated by a motor. This is done with the help of a synchronous timing belt drive or a direct drive or worm gear drive. This turning of the screw helps in pushing the drive nut along the screw. This drive nut in turn pushes the drive nut along the screw, and pushes the rod out. The rotation of the screw in the opposite direction will retract the rod.
The basic concept of linear actuator is to move an object in a straight line. Therefore, you would have to consider the purpose of the project before deciding on a linear actuator. The main aspects that you would have to keep in mind are the stroke length, the speed and the load rating of the actuator, before deciding on the type of actuator that you would be using.
There is a lot of information available about linear actuators all around. The Internet is the best place to get information about linear actuators. You can sign up on any forums or groups to find more information about the various types of linear actuators. Of course, while using linear actuators you will have to keep several things in mind, like safety concerns, environmental hazards and space constraints.

Are you looking to buy a new car? If so, then you have some work to do. You don’t just go to a car dealer and order a car. If you want to save big, buying a car doesn’t work that way. And as far as buying a car is concerned, you have to always go for the best deal, regardless if you’re going to buy just a second hand car or a new one. Here are the things you have to do:
1. Determine your budget.
How much are you willing to spend on a car? Your budget has a lot to do with what kind of car you should buy and all the other perks that you want to come with it. More than deciding which car to buy, you have to look at your finances first and see how far you can go. If money is not a problem, then you’re one of the lucky few. But unless you’re filthy rich, you better admit to yourself the honest amount of money you can spare for a car.
2. Choose the right car for your purpose
After knowing how much you can afford, you will be able to find several cars, either old or new, that would fit your budget. Now is the time to compare these cars together and see which car would work for you best. Decide considering your main purpose of buying the car. Is the car going to be used regularly? Or is it a vehicle for your teenager? Prioritize everything and think several times over the reservation you may have.
3. Search for the best discount.
Certain dealers provide discounts for their cars. Discounts are used as a pull for consumers. If you want to find the best deal around, you have to dedicate two to three hours on the internet and on the phone looking for car dealers around you and asking for discounts on the car of your choice. Cash rebates and low rate financing plans are the most common form of discounts provided by dealers. Compare their offers and find out where you can save more. You should save anywhere from $1,000 to $15,000 on the purchase of your car.
4. Look for car clubs
Car clubs and signing up for one can help you find the best deal in town. Good examples would be Sam’s Club, Costco, and the American Automobile Association. Don’t think that signing up with them is a waste of time. You are not going to buy just one car all your life. Also, you are going to spend money on car parts, insurance, accessories, and fuel. Being associated with these car clubs would allow you to save on most of the things you need to buy for your car.
Always go for the best deal. That’s the only way you can put more value to your hard-earned cash and get the best car investment around.

Land Rover Freelander - compact SUV from TATA LandRoverThe Land Rover Freelander is a compact SUV from the subsidiary of Tata Motors, the British Land Rover. The company is now producing the second generation model named the Freelander 2 or LR2. The latest edition of the Freelander is hitting the Middle East and North American markets.
The Rover Group conceptualized the original design of the Freelander in late 1980s after doing market researches that suggested the creation of compact off-roaders. The Rover Group was about to develop the Freelander project in early 1990s when they had a limited budget for its product development. To battle it out the Rover looked for a partner for the development of the Freelander. Their formal partner, the Honda has declined to join the project but came out with the similar Honda CR-V in 1997. With their failure to find a partner the Rover Group decided to go alone with the development of the Freelander that they named CB40 with their limited available resources. They come up with a unique suspension, transmission, and body construction. The Freelander was launched in 1997 after several years of development from their limited parts bin. In 1994, the BMW took over the operation of the Rover Group but not with the development of the Freelander.
The cost cutting done in the old Freelanders was retorted when the early Freelanders were found to be suffering from several inconsistencies such as clutch failure, head gaskets problem, and electrical problems. The new Freelander has seen a change in design and improvements in the problem areas of the past and this has accounted for the vehicle remaining on top when it comes to sale value. The Freelander was the best-selling 4×4 in Europe.
One notable feature of the Freelander was the hill descent control system that was first used in this model of the Land Rover. This system uses the ABS to give an off road Traction Control system and to individually control the brakes while maintaining better driving control in off road terrains. The Freelander was out of the production line after its poor sales in 2006 in U.S. and Canada.
The second generation of Freelander or the Freelander 2 was developed not to save the original Freelander from shame. The Freelander 2 is another unique development but only carrying the original Freelander nameplate. This new generation model was first seen in 2006 British International Motor Show and initially marketed in Europe and eyeing the future sales in the markets of North America. Before the actual launching of the LR2, journalist had a preview of the Freelander 2 in a private presentation held at Kensington Roof Gardens that also featured Maria Sharapova, a celebrity tennis player.
The Freelander 2 used the Ford EUCD platform that is also used by the Ford Galaxy, Volvo S80, and Ford S-MAX. The Freelander 2 used power engines like the same transversely mounted engine used in Volvo SI6 series, the 3.2 V6 engine that was first used in Volvo S8. Other LR2 models also used the 2.2 DW12 engines, a common rail turbo diesel that was collaboratively developed by PSA and Ford. The latest Freelander had some improvements in its ground clearance and off-road capabilities matching other Land Rover models. The interiors also had some major enhancements and added with some standardized safety features. The Terrain Response system used in Discovery 3 and Range Rover was also used in Freelander 2 with some modifications to fit the new model.
The Freelander 2 reached the U.S. market in 2007. The latest 2008 version known as the LR2 HSE is another innovation on the Freelander 2 that uses 19” wheels and with additional side trims. All the Freelander 2 models use the six-speed automatic transmission and the all-wheel drive capacity. Latest innovations include the Technology Package, Lighting Package, and the Cold Climate Package.

Sports utility vehicle (SUV) rollover accidents are occurring more frequently as the vehicles grow in popularity. In 2000, 36% of all fatal motor vehicle crashes involved SUV rollovers. Today 25% of motor vehicles purchased in the US are SUVs. Rollovers are not as common as other types of accidents, but when they occur they are much more likely to cause catastrophic injury and death.
SUVs Roll by Design
SUVs are more likely to roll than other vehicles by the nature of their design. They were not originally intended for everyday driving, but were designed for use in off-road conditions. Some of the unique design aspects which give them an off-road advantage also make them more likely to roll on the highway and in town:
• High clearance creating a high center of gravity
• Tall and narrow
• Increasingly top heavy as passengers are added, because of the high center of gravity
Safety Features Not Always Standard
Design features, such as high clearance, are integral to the SUV concept, but as their primary use has changed from off-road to normal passenger conditions, safety features which were once standard have become optional on the vehicles. Roll bars, for instance, are standard equipment for off-roading, because of the high likelihood of rollovers in off-road driving. Since only 5% of SUV’s are used off-road, they are no longer standard, and are instead an option that the consumer must request and purchase. The logic behind this fails when you look at the numbers - well over half of all SUV-related deaths are caused by rollover accidents.
Flaws in Design
Design flaws in SUV’s make them more prone to roll in situations where other vehicles are more likely to remain upright, such as:
• Tripping – when a tire hits a curb, bump, or soft shoulder causing the vehicle to pitch forward
• Defective tires
• High-speed instability
If you have been involved in a rollover SUV accident, you should contact an experienced SUV rollover attorney in your area as soon as possible. While the same basic do’s and don’ts of any auto accident still apply, it is important to understand that SUV rollover claims are more complicated than typical accident claims. There is a great likelihood that you will need to file a product liability lawsuit against the vehicle manufacturer to receive the compensation that you need and deserve. In order to determine if the rollover was caused by design flaws or vehicle defects, an expert will need to examine the vehicle. There may also be a quiet history of elevated rollover rates for the particular make, model, and year of your vehicle. An experienced SUV rollover attorney can help you get the compensation you deserve for your injuries.
Compensation
Rollover accidents often mean catastrophic injuries or death of a loved one. In addition to the physical and emotional pain and suffering, the short and long-term financial impact of this type of accident can be devastating. Compensation which you may be entitled to includes:
• Current and future medical expenses
• Current and future lost wages
• Pain and suffering
• Long-term care
• Property damage
• Burial expenses
• Loss of companionship

Some people talk about environmental factors associated with being able to run cars on water. In fact, hydrogen cars are listed as being totally emission free. This is because the only emission they release is water vapor.
HHO gas is used to completely replace the fuel or to replace part of the fuel within a vehicle. HHO gas is created when water undergoes a particular type of chemical change and that occurs at the time when electricity is added.
The first thing to consider is how much does your car, with its current gasoline-based engine, emit into the atmosphere? It depends on your vehicle, but tons of green house gases which poisons humans and destroys the environment by increasing global warming, are constantly released into the atmosphere.
By adding a hydrogen generator to your current vehicle, you can cut gas usage by 50-100%. This means that you can add half a tank to a full tank of gas for each fill up!
It does not take long to install a conversion kit (or even make one yourself) if you want to try out the benefits for yourself, and you can easily remove it if it does not meet your expectations when assisting you in providing a cleaner environment. Some people ask why they should bother considering the huge amounts of money spent and how can one single vehicle make a difference?
This may be true. One single vehicle might not make a huge impact, but it can and if you notice the difference and tell a few people, they will try it and tell a few more people, creating an enormous chain effect. Many people believe that one person alone cannot make a difference to help the environment.
But one person can definitely open the way for others to follow and replicate the same practices to save energy and preserve our environment. In the meantime, you get to enjoy saving lots of money and greatly increase your gas mileage without using hardly any gas.
Options for running a car on water are becoming more and more popular, not just because of environmental factors but also for the cost saving elements that are bringing countless people onto the idea of using HHO gas and hydrogen generators in their cars. They are easy to install, they are inexpensive when compared to the savings that can be had from them, and they use a renewable source that can be found anywhere for free.
When taking this into consideration and then adding to it the environmental factors, it is little wonder why the running a car on water idea is becoming very popular. There are many people who may pass up this opportunity, even if they want to do something for the environment because they do not believe that they can make a difference. Even one individuals single impact is well worth it when it comes to preserving our environment.
